4 Natural Home Cleaners You Can Make Yourself

natural home cleaners

We all use a variety of cleaners for our daily cleaning chores, but there are situations where we have to improvise by using whatever materials we have on hand.

It’s always a hassle to have to make a grocery run for a bottle of Windex or Borax. Cleaners such as these are the heavy-duty solutions we need for getting rid of stubborn stains.

But what if you have run out of these products? If you lack the time to replenish your cleaning arsenal in the middle of a chore, here are a few ideas you can try:

Window cleaners

Combine half a teaspoon of dish soap with 1/4 of white vinegar in a spray bottle. Mix it with a cup or two of water and shake well. You now have a window cleaner that’s just as effective in putting the shine back to any glass surface. In case you don’t have vinegar on hand, you can always use lemon juice as an alternative cleaning agent.

Stainless steel polisher

Olive oil and some vinegar make for a handy combination for cleaning stainless steel pots, pans, and utensils. All you need to do is to apply some vinegar to your stainless steel item using a spray bottle. Then, take a cloth and apply some olive oil to it before wiping it down.

Laundry solution

If you have borax, washing soda, a spare bar of soap, and a cheese grater lying around, you have the means to make homemade detergent. Simply grate the bar of soap until you have a decent amount. Mix this with two parts borax and two parts washing soda. You can then use this combination for doing the laundry.

Mold remover

Do you notice any mold forming on your tiles or other parts around the house? If you have run out of commercial mold cleaners, don’t worry. You can make an instant mold remover just by combining two parts baking soda and one part vinegar. The resulting paste should be enough to scrub down any area that’s been infected by mold.

Even if you have the right cleaning materials on hand, you may not have the time to do any cleaning. In this case, you might as well book a cleaning company to do the job for you.
